-Signs No Climate Tax Pledge-
Robert Lowry, Candidate for United States House of Representatives for Florida’s 20th. Congressional District has received special recognition from the national citizens group Americans for Prosperity®.
This recognition is further acknowledgement of Robert Lowry’s conservative policy positions and will serve to add momentum to his campaign march to victory in the general election November 2, 2010. In that election he intends to unseat the progressive Mrs. Wasserman Schultz. Mrs. Schultz has already voted to increase energy taxes and escalate energy costs on the average family of four in the 20th. District by as much as $6,800.00 per year! Robert intends to stop her designs to crush the life style of the citizens of South Florida and America and to restore true representation to the citizens of the 20th. District.
When elected Robert Lowry’s position is to work with other U.S. House Members on both sides of the isle to bring about free market based energy reforms to encourage: lower energy costs, achieve near-term independence from petroleum supplied from our nations adversaries, and to gain citizens voluntary energy conservation. He will not stand for any increase in energy costs which serve to increase government revenues by design or serve to destroy the lives of our citizens by oppressive taxation.
When elected, Robert is further committed to work diligently to “Right Size” the Federal Government and stop the insane growth in our nations debt. He has a plan to begin immediately to pay down the near $13.0 Trillion Dollar national debt, while at the same time slash taxes levied on the American Families and business.
The Lowry For Congress Campaign wishes to thank Americans For Prosperity®, who by their applause recognize Robert’s signing the “No Energy Tax” Pledge. We believe it serves to underscore the fundamental merit of his positions to restore prosperity to all American’s. We would like to further make special personal appreciation to the 60,000 supporters of AFP who share Robert’s vision for a more prosperous American through reduced size of Federal Government and runaway spending.

PALM BEACH GARDENS—The Florida chapter of the free market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity (AFP-FL) today applauded U.S. House candidate Robert Lowry (20th District) for signing the group’s “No Climate Tax Pledge.” Lowry joins more than 575 bipartisan lawmakers and candidates on the federal, state and local levels pledging to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”
“The one thing elected officials should agree on is that global warming shouldn’t be used as an excuse to hike taxes on citizens and businesses,” said AFP-Fl State Director Apryl Marie Fogel. “We encourage all of Florida’s elected officials and candidates for elected office to sign the pledge.”
Florida signers include: U.S. Representatives C.W. Bill Young, Bill Posey and Jeff Miller; and U.S. House candidates Todd Long, Patricia Sullivan, Steve Southerland, Mike Prendergast, Dennis Ross, Sandy Adam, Karen Diebel, Bruce O’Donoghue and Craig Miller.
Cap-and-trade took its first step toward enactment last year when the U.S. House narrowly passed the Waxman-Markey energy tax bill, which escaped the lower chamber by a scant seven votes despite significant bipartisan opposition. The Senate has struggled to pass companion legislation, with key Democratic senators openly expressing opposition to attempting to pass the energy tax bill.
President Obama has made no secret of his support for the bill, which would be the largest tax increase in American history. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has scored the House plan as an $846 billion increase in federal revenue, a burden that will be borne by taxpayers and consumers for decades to come.
“Using the guise of climate change to transfer dollars from hard-working citizens to bureaucratic big government is unacceptable,” said Fogel. “Regardless of their stance on global warming, this should be common ground for all of our elected officials at all levels of government.”
The pledge is available online at www.NoClimateTax.com. AFP does not endorse candidates. All elected officials and candidates are encouraged to sign the pledge and go on the record in opposition to using the climate change issue to increase taxes and grow the size of government.
