Israel

I am not of Jewish descent, but the roots of my own Christian heritage grew from the rich, holy soil of Israel. Our faiths and our futures are inseparably linked by a bond that cannot be denied.

62 years ago, from the ashes of the Holocaust, the world came together to support Israel’s request for recognition as a soveriegn nation. The world did not do it for stated spiritual reasons, but as many are fond of saying “The Lord works in mysterious ways”.  We re-established Israel into a sovereign nation from a land that had been all but abandoned by the local inhabitants. This decision was the right thing to do, for the right reasons. Those reasons are as true today as they were then. Israel today, is the natural home of the Jewish Nation. [Read more...]

The Economy

Strengthening our Economy through Fiscal Discipline and Tax Code Reform

Let me start with a quick summary of American Economics 101: The government of the Unites States of America protects the inalienable rights of America’s citizenry: “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. American citizens then use these Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms to pursue personal economic growth. When American Citizens achieve corporate and personal growth and success, they spend money buying goods and services. The American government then taxes those goods and services to provide the very freedom that protects the rights . The result is NATIONAL economic growth.

Our government has forgotten this fundamental principle. [Read more...]

Healthcare

I am not going to hash out the points of HR3200 because it doesn’t address the problem or provide solutions – there is only one thing to do with HR3200 – Scrap it.

I am so impressed and proud of my fellow Americans who are bravely speaking out against further expansion of government-run healthcare. We are standing up and voicing our beliefs in Town Halls and at Tea Parties. The “silent American majority” has been awakened by the attempt of the current administration and Congress to limit the choices of American citizens. We are reminding people that this great country is founded on LIFE, LIBERTY and the Pursuit of Happiness – especially when our own private insurance is what makes us happy!

Every dollar we spend on healthcare in this country, 35% of it is the private sector. This means me and you, our health insurance and the “private pay” people. The other 65% is the Government-run programs – Medicare and Medicaid. [Read more...]

Illegal Immigration

I believe in legal immigration.

This country’s success has been based on the immigration of those striving for a better life. Those that come here know that America represents a better life, and a better opportunity than any other country. This is a direct result of the inherent freedom to fail or succeed woven throughout our constitution – that very document under siege today.

Our country craves skills and talent. It begs for fresh ideas in our diverse industries. I believe that future immigration will also help our economy recuperate by attracting the world’s intellectual talent, as well as those who continue to strive for financial independence.

The problem is that this system is broken. [Read more...]

Term Limits

The idea of term limits has been talked about, and promised by elected officials for years, but now is the time for those elected to put it in to practice, and make it law.. To lead by example, I will only serve a maximum of 3 terms.

Running for office, doesn’t necessarily make you a politician, at least not initially. I believe that you can serve your country by holding a public position, and fulfilling that duty as an American citizen, without being a politician.

As an example of this thought: Just because you may have sold a car you owned, does not make you a used car salesman.

The United States of America is the greatest country on the planet; not because we are smarter, faster, or even better looking than any other… We became the greatest because we have the greatest freedom to pursue our goals and dreams. [Read more...]

The Second Amendment

The Second Amendment and our right to bear arms

I fully support the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which protects an individual’s right to keep and bear arms. The Founding Fathers placed prime importance on the people’s right to arms. I believe that the Constitution means what it says with regards to that right.

Unfortunately, many opponents of the Second Amendment exploit tragedies to advance gun control legislation, asserting that new gun laws will serve as an effective crime-control measure and prevent future tragedies. This premise of the opponents is not born out by experience or fact.

It is no coincidence that many of the cities in the United States with the strictest gun-control laws also have the highest violent crime rates. We must be clear – disarming law-abiding citizens does not prevent criminal activity. Instead it hinders a law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense, and further arms criminals. It has been said many times that a criminal is less likely to commit a crime against a citizen if they know they might be shot while doing so. [Read more...]

Cap and Trade

This is not an effort to control the environment through “capping” and “trading” carbon emissions, this is an effort to control American business and innovation. It is based on unproven science and profiteering by “green” companies. We all want to be good stewards of our planet, but the insanity of writing policy on “scare science” has to be stopped.
